Brentwood Bowling Club ladies are busy making final preparatons for this year’s Gala Day which will be held on Wednesday 5th August.
Bowlers from across the county will be gathering at King George’s Playing Fields to compete for cash prizs in the annual triples contest which was won last year by Runwell, with Liberty in second place.
Away from the competition, the day is a fantastic social event, enabling bowlers to catch up with good friends and to make new ones.
Brentwod ladies’ captain Margaret Rayment says: “It is also one of our most important fundraising activities of the year and all of our ladies – and some of the men – will be pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s a big success once again.”
There will be food and refreshments prepared by a host of volunteers, a selection of stalls, a ‘Pot of Gold’ draw, raffle and tombola.
Margaret has already received some excellent prizes and she is hoping many more members will donate items in the next few weeks.
As usual, donations can be left with any lady member at the club where they will be stored in the ladies’ changing room.
