Brentwood Bowling Club are likely to be fielding two teams in the RBA Triples League next summer.
The move was revealed by captain Richard Rose at the men’s section AGM on Sunday 16th November at the club pavilion in King George’s Playing Field.
He said: “This means that we have to have 30 bowlers to play every Wednesday. This will be something of a challenge but it does also mean that more of our members will get a regular league game every week.”
Richard outlined some of the club achievements over the past season, topped by regaining the Morton Trophy which was last held in 2012.
Brentwood were runners-up in the RBA Triples League, put in a satisfactory performance in the Brentwood League and improved in the Clockhouse League which was ‘a credit to the enthusiasm of players’.
The Ashford Cup final was won by the county’s Group 4 with Brentwood providing three of the six skips – Adam Smith, Geoff Byatt and Fred Wasmuth. Adam also played in the Inter Group Knockout which was also won by Group 4.
Richard added: “Perhaps our biggest honour of the year belongs to our president Byron Davies who had a very busy season as president of the prestigious Essex Vice-Presidents’ Association.”
