Four rinks were in play – three triples and a four – with all teams playing 18 ends.

Ladies’ captain Margaret Rayment and men’s captain Fred Wasmuth were skips on two of the rinks which had exciting finishes with both decided by a one-shot margin.

The 26 players and several guests enjoyed a meal of fish or chicken with chips before the captains outlined the highlights and lowlights of the year and paid tribute to individuals for their unfailing support.

Ladies’ vice-captain Kath Jolly presented a potted plant to her captain saying: “What a wonderful job Margaret has done. She never really gets the thanks she deserves.’
