Men chase county honours

Brentwood men have been making good progress in this year’s county competitions.

Captain Fred Wasmuth and Paul Topley have won through in the Group 4 two woods pairs on 10th July, defeating their opponents 23 – 15 after 20 ends.

In the Colin Morton Trophy triples competition against Clockhouse A on 8th July, Brentwood A won on both rinks to gain an overall 49 – 25 victory. Teams: Paul Topley, Ron Lofts, John Brinkley; Ted Vidler, Geoff Byatt, Fred Wasmuth. Their next game is against Elm Park by 13th August. This is the last season Geoff will be eligible to play in the Morton Trophy as he has recently been awarded his county badge.

Geoff is also doing well in the county unbadged singles competition having won his Group 4 local area games. He is due to play his next game against an opponent from Group 8 at Aveling BC in Walthamstow on 18th July.
