There was plenty of excitement as 24 teams battled for big cash prizes in the annual men’s invitation triples competition hosted by Brentwood Bowling Club on Sunday 2nd July.
Teams played five games of seven ends at King George’s Playing Fields and at the finish, only four points separated the top four.
In the last game, Rayleigh overtook Clockhouse B on the leader board to lift the winners’ shield and £300 in prize money. The runners-up collected £150 and third-placed Liberty picked up £90 after pipping Clockhouse A on shot difference.
The full-day event was organised by Brentwood men’s captain Fred Wasmuth who welcomed the 72 players from 17 clubs across Essex and East London.
Before presenting the awards, he thanked sponsors Bentley Crematorium for their continued support and all the volunteers who helped with catering, scorekeeping, umpiring and running the raffle.
On behalf of everyone taking part, Brentwood club president Byron Davies thanked organiser Fred Wasmuth.
