Festive teatime treat

Members of Brentwood Bowling Club ladies’ section held their annual festive get-together on Thursday 15th December 2016.

Instead of a Christmas lunch, this year’s celebration took the form of afternoon tea at the clubhouse.

TEATIME: 22 ladies attended this year’s Christmas get-together

Twenty-two ladies sat down to tea comprising finger sandwiches, home-made scones with jam and cream, mini cupcakes, mince pies, Christmas cake and stollen, complemented with a glass of prosecco and chocolates, not forgetting copious pots of tea.

At the outset, the ambience was enhanced with background music including Christmas carols and songs. Later, the mood changed for a bop to the sounds of the Sixties, followed by an enthusiastic rendition of the hokey cokey led by ladies’ captain Margaret Rayment.

Margaret thanked organiser Ann Powell and said she was delighted to see such a good turnout of members who had thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
