Bowlers from across Essex took part in the annual ladies’ invitation triples at Brentwood Bowling Club on Wednesday 10th August 2016.
Twenty-two teams entered the competition, with each playing four games of seven ends on greens at King George’s Playing Fields.
With nearly £200 prize money on offer, competition was fierce and only three points separated the three top teams.
The Runwell 2 team with skip Delia Searle, lead Pat Algie and Chris Quirey as number two carried off first prize on shot difference over South Benfleet & Canvey, with both teams tied on 60 points.

Both had won all their four games, as did third-placed Kings Chase 2 from Brentwood who finished with 57 points.
Players were welcomed by Brentwood ladies’ captain Margaret Rayment who also presented the prizes in the club pavilion. She said: “We have had a lovely day – I’m very pleased with the way things have gone.”
There was a hearty round of applause for all the volunteers who helped to make the day such a resounding success, with particular praise going to the catering team which provided a two-course lunch for around 90 players, guests and helpers.
Teams taking part were Buckhurst Hill, Central Essex 1 and 2 (Brentwood), Chadwell St Mary, Clacton, Clockhouse (Upminster), Corringham, Gidea Park, Harold Hill, Haynes Park 1 and 2, Hutton Poplars (Brentwood), Kings Chase (Brentwood) 1 and 2, Liberty of Havering, Murrayfield (Basildon), Rainham 1 and 2, Runwell 1 and 2, South Benfleet & Canvey, Warley Hill (Brentwood).
