Twenty players from Brentwood Bowling Club enjoyed the annual match against Jacks Centre in Latchingdon on Wednesday 9th December.
The hosts piled on the pressure from the outset and eventually won on three rinks and drew on the remaining two, with the final score 96 – 77.
Brentwood looked set to win on at least one rink as Maureen Jaycock’s team – with Patrick Miller, Laurie Darnell and Marje Shute – started their last end one shot ahead but were forced into a 19-all draw, which was enough to earn them the visitors’ best rink award.
Richard Rose’s team of Pam Robinson, Trevor Pedley and Ann Powell were in close pursuit for the best rink honour, finishing with an 18-shot draw.
Other teams: John Young, Alan Medcraft, Derek Robinson, Kate Davies; Marion Lofts, Joan Stevenson, Cliff Jaycock, Geoff Byatt; Marina Thorne, Dave Sach, Paul Harrison, Margaret Rayment
