Arthur Bennett Trophy 2015

Brentwood Bowling Club were runners-up to Ingatestone in the 2015 Arthur Bennett Memorial Trophy competition held at King George’s Playing Fields on Sunday 7th June.

Nine clubs belonging to the Brentwood and District Bowling Association took part in the event sponsored by Brentwood-based funeral directors Bennetts.

Clubs entered a ladies’ team and a men’s team, each playing five seven-end games throughout the day which was blessed with brilliant sunshine. Brentwood won four of their games and drew the fifth, winning 33 of the 35 ends.

Brentwood players were Sue Hickman, Maureen Jaycock, Kath Jolly, Joan Stevenson, Ron Jolly, Cliff Jaycock, Ron Lofts and Paul Harrison.

Clubs taking part were Billericay, Brentwood, Central Essex, Clockhouse, Haynes Park, Hutton Poplars, Ingatestone, Kings Chase and Upminster.
