Five mixed rinks were in play for the annual fixture and although Brentwood won on only two rinks, the shot differences of 13 and 8 were sufficient to put the visitors ahead by 99 – 97.

At the after-match meal, Brentwood captain Richard Rose thanked the hosts for a wonderful day which was blessed with brilliant sunshine.

Richard revealed that he had skipped on the winning Brentwood rink and he presented pens to other members of the team – lead Ann Powell, second Janet Howson and No 3 Byron Davies.

Other teams: Pam Robinson, Brian Martin, Joan Stevenson and Ron Lofts; Pat Miller, Ken Collins, Marje Shute and Ron Jolly; Kath Jolly, Keith Howson, Derek Robinson and Maureen Jaycock; Ted Vidler, Alison Hare, Cliff Jaycock and Margaret Rayment.
