Pam Baker has been in touch to thank all fellow members who attended husband Jim’s funeral on Wednesday 29th October and made charity donations in his memory.
She writes: “Jim would have been delighted so many friends and relatives attended.
“I have today sent a total of £505 in cheques and cash to the Alzheimer’s Society – this is in addition to the online donations people made.”
Jim, a longstanding member and former captain of Brentwood Bowling Club, died on 12th October at the age of 86.
Mourners at Bentley Crematorium heard that Jim was very active in his younger days when he was a keen athlete and footballer.
He was 16 when he met future wife Pam and long before they took up lawn bowling, the pair discovered another activity they could enjoy together … riding a tandem!
