Brentwood Bowling Club are celebrating a major victory in the Essex County Double Fours competition after knocking out mighty Romford in the second round which was played one rink at home and one away on Tuesday 18th June. Brentwood won by six shots overall, with the final score 38-32.

Jubilant captain Richard Rose paid tribute to his squad for their skill and tenacity in the face of extremely tough oppsition.
He said: “Romford are probably the strongest club in Essex when they put out their big players – which they did on this occasion. This is our best club win for a year or two.”
Brentwood teams – Home: John Howard, Ron Jolly, Geoff Byatt, Adam Smith (skip). Away: Ron Waller, Ron Lofts, Byron Davies, Richard Rose (skip).
Brentwood are now due to play Romford’s second team in the third round of the competition.
