Around 30 visitors attended our annual Open Day on Saturday May 4 when there was a good turnout of members to welcome guests, show them around and explain the basics of the game.
While many were happy to have a roll-up, some were soon beginning to feel the competitive urge so the scoreboards came out on a couple of rinks.
Afterwards, refreshments including home-made cakes were served in the pavilion where Barbara Morrish and Peter Hayward were on hand to answer questions about membership and sign up newcomers.
Eight men and six ladies were so impressed with their Open Day experience, they joined up on the spot and others took away membership application forms.
Captains Richard Rose and Margaret Rayment said they were delighted with the response and thanked everyone who had helped to make the day such a big success.
If you were unable to get along to the Open Day, please use the contact form to request details about free taster sessions and our superb money-saving membership offer.
* We now need more smaller woods to loan out for novice practice sessions. If you have any size 00, 0, 1 or 2 bowls gathering dust in the loft or garage, please get in touch.
